Rocknog - it has become a cultural taboo to even TALK about immigration because of that mentality.I'm not anti legal immigration, but I AM anti-illegal immigration. We need to look at our immigration policy, but we are letting MANY people come here through legal channels. You are writing as though there's no legal immigration. There are legal possibilities to come here.But, you know, we SHOULD look at the numbers of people. We can't just allow anyone to cross the border. ANY border.It's an INSANE idea. The UN is apparently now going to look at several cities in the USA and if they find that there's a shortage of housing for people, we'll be guilty of human rights abuses.Can we HOUSE everyone who comes here, and if they are here illegally and they are not housed, does that count against us in this study?Should we allow people to come here if they believe they ought to get to live under Sharia Law when they are here?What kind of conditions are we allowed to put on people who want to come here? Are we allowed to ask anything?Because I'm not sure what kind of immigration policy anyone's advocating...it just seems like we're not allowed to talk about illegal immigration without being accused of bigotry.How can we address the issue, without being able to address the issue?I have an idea...maybe if someone comes here illegally, even if they have a child while they are here...we make it policy that they WILL (unless they are legitimately fleeing persecution) be deported and stopped from ever coming here legally.No matter where they are from. |
