Free public education? Ohh.. you mean high school.. that exercise in flag-waving that leaves you unable to find your own country on a map. Us Europeans have been laughing at that for a while. Maybe it's the envy of Africa, but we would certainly prefer our own, thanks.Anyway, I see your point. But supporting a few lazy people is the risk you run if you decide to support the needy. I believe that not turning our society into some sick form of social Darwinism is what makes us human. You'll wind up paying for it either way. In our system, upfront through our welfare state. In your society, you still pay, for law enforcement and building/operating prisons where you have to keep all your poor after they steal something. Our system has its flaws, but on the whole it's still preferable I think. It is by how you treat your sick and your needy by which your character reveals itself.
That's one strange fetish you got there.

You do realize if this stuff is retrieved and then bottled that it would sell for at least $10,000 a bottle? It would be very unique and highly sought after by all the single malt scotch enthusiasts. Being in sub zero temps for 100 years would preserve it well.?
I think you misspelled congress. |

I have an iPhone, but usability as a phone is not one of its strong points. I have to press a minimum of 3 buttons, physical or virtual, usually 6, before I can even start putting in a phone number. I handed my iPhone to a guy on a plane once before take off, his was dead, he looks at it and hands it back and asks me to dial in the number for him because he has no clue how to. Never had that problem with any other phone. iPhone is great, the touch screen is fun, but the UI is still *****, maybe the best *****, but *****. When can I get a usable camera in the thing? Plus the Japanese are smarter than most westerners, they would rather have features than a dumbed down phone. iPhone sells purely on Apple's name, that is why I have it, to create apps and exploit the masses. Here is to hoping that Android (much closer to true expandability than the iPhone every will be) takes off with the masses and Apple and their proprietary closed ways fade away like it is the 90s (but Apple was open in the 90s and that is why it was hurting, no Mac OS 8 and 9 sucked). Importing me a Milestone ASAP, iPhone will be purely for development then...
