Multiplayer games are easier to code. Not having to worry about the AI for single player mode means one or two people can code a game cheaply or freely..
Wow, looks like there is a lot of hate for my home state. Don't forget we gave you Bill Clinton, those were fun times. In all seriousness though, I've been through Ozark several times; it's not a place for minorities, and apparently not for children either.

“FTA: "Theory says that such energy conversion can never exceed a specific value called the Carnot Limit, based on a 19th-century formula for determining the maximum efficiency that any device can achieve in converting heat into work. But current commercial thermoelectric devices only achieve about one-tenth of that limit." ... So in other words they've got all kinds of room for improvement; must be encouraging.

AWWW HELL NAW!.
When it was 99cents a song, I wouldn't think twice about hitting the purchase button whenever a new song came out that I may like. Now that many of songs I purchase are at the $1.29 price point, there have been multiple occasions where I hovered my mouse over the buy button but have not clicked it.Even though it is just 30cents, seeing that $1 makes you think twice.!

The first Mickey Mouse cartoon was "Plane Crazy", a silent short to which a soundtrack was later added. It premiered on May 15, 1928 and was the work of primarily one man - Ub Iwerks. The sound version can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMoAXM96ZE0?

To cut through the automated system (since I've found them useless as well, and I'm always rerouted anyway) here's a site that shows you how to run through prompts to put you in touch w/ a person right away - http://gethuman.com/ Can't help you with the rest though, but as a tech who has to call a lot of outside vendors, it's really helpful to be able to cut through the crap to get to a human right away.

Too many to choose from ... Dugg for AD ... Dugg for GOB quite possibly being the greatest written character EVER on television. Michael: His name is Gary and we don't need any more lawsuits.Gob: Wait... Gary's gay? He's going to think I was coming onto him.Gob: [flashback] You've got a nice mouth.Gob: [flashback] I'd kill for that ass.Gob: [flashback] Now lately, the chair doesn't seem to give out but as soon as I lean back...

All these conferences and foundations are little more than intellectual masturbation. TED, Google Talks, IGF, etc. A bunch of people with their heads in the clouds get together and ejaculate phrases like "humanity connected" and "world changing". It makes everyone feel good, like when you're high and you start getting those feelings of connectedness with the universe. I admit, listening to those talks gives me a sense of euphoria too, but when I snap back to reality and realize the problems at hand are more concrete, like getting a stable release version of a 64-bit flash player, or I see the same organizations that talk big about open video still using embedded flash videos. It's like ancient greek philosophers getting in a circle and impressing each other with how unworldly each of their philosophies are. At the end of the day, someone has to do the grunt work. I think we'd be hard pressed to figure out the last time one of these gatherings made a tangible difference.I'd like to see fewer people preaching about how astounding the future of computing is and more people making it happen. |
