This is what San Francisco looks like almost every day. Actually, the fog is a little light, must have been a nice day.
Plus the volume, the amount, the weight, the size etc.. of the byproduct is much smaller. Nuke power now gives some tonnes of waste in need of storage/disposal.The breeder reactor type stuff puts out waste in the pounds...This is the future kids. Sooner or later, this is where power will be coming from. I hope its sooner.

Yes, over five decades ago. They aren't going to be running this thing with a vacuum tube computer....
That pic really supports the claim " Florida?! But that's the country's wang."!

Enlightenment, if your friend had a Windows 64-bit system, he could have used the 32-bit version of IE rather than install 32-bit Firefox. The 32-bit version of IE is actually the default version available through the Windows Start Menu and if there's an IE icon set up on the desktop. You have to go and pick out the 64-bit version of IE specifically to use it. Adobe is very tardy on this issue, but at the same time the majority of Windows 64-bit users continue to use 32-bit IE or Firefox, so unfortunately it hasn't been a priority for Adobe.?
Corporate executives don't make slave wages. You are paying for their yachts, private schools, summer homes, sports car collections, private jets, huge holiday parties, country club memberships, etc. |

Australia had a nation wide hyper-link like precursor to the Internet back in 1985. It was based on the pseudo graphical Teletext format (as seen on *old* high end TV sets/gambling venues/etc). Each page had up to ten links embedded in the page (accessed by keys 0 to 9) and 999 pages (accessed by *pagenum# ). The navigational was presumably based on tone phone controls. They had live chat, software downloads and even online banking via gateways. Despite using 1200/75 modems it was much more responsive than much of todays Internet due to it's low bandwidth requirements. The idea of page linking and URL's was well established and in use domestic use well before either the Internet or HyperCard.Ironically it's hard to find information on the Viatel service as it predated the domestic Internet, and the WWW. Still remember it fondly though. Even wrote my own version of the schools BBC Micro network in the late 80's. Just couldn't capture the filelock exceptions between different machines. Darn.
