| im very very impressed. HUGE step up from past cards. hardocp clocked it at an average of 40 fps on very high at 1920 x 1200 with 4x aa. and that means at the ice levels, which are horribly demanding. impressive. and everyone saying it's been 3 years and still not 60 fps, well, the game is lightyears ahead of every other game visually. sure, graphics aren't everything, but im glad someone is at least pushing to see what's possible. not just settling for mainstream success. and btw crysis and crysis warhead are both great games. seriously. |

If only there was a level quite like this.
I bet some members of congress will steal that much or more during the careers in Washington.

To all of you saying that price is determined by supply vs demand and is thus not applicable to digital media: You're not thinking this through. The price of any commodity is determined solely by how much people are willing to pay for it. Obviously scarcity value plays a massive role in the equation, but DeBeers can't charge $1,000,000,000,000 per diamond even though they do have a throttle on the market - because people simply won't pay it.Correspondingly, you *could* in theory make a profit by selling music at $0.05 per song, since you have practically zero distribution costs compared to selling physical CDs. But, since many people are willing to pay twenty times as much, these companies will charge twenty times as much and pocket the difference. There is such a thing as an optimal price point: more people buy Song X if it's cheaper, but you can conceivably make more money by boosting its price and getting fewer downloads - *if* the price increase is sufficient to offset the loss due to decreased sales. It's a ridiculously simple equation - we did this sort of stuff in 6th grade. The trick is finding that optimal balance, which is what the industry is doing right now. It might actually be in their best interests to jack up the price to the point where fewer people buy the song, but those who *do* buy it end up paying more..
If you don't want the government to manage health care, then you must prefer to let big business, the AMA, big pharma, and health insurance companies do it. Personally, I'd prefer to have government take a bigger role in deciding what's fair.!

The point is that while languages like English and Spanish and so on developed naturally over time among a civilization, Klingon was constructed by a group of people with a different goal in mind. A "synthetic" language, if you will.?
True. But it isnt it always that way? The very same people who will not be or never have had to fight or put their lives on the line are sending our men and women over there to do it. If they had to go through it maybe they'd think about it a bit more before sending them over to fight over oil and poppies. |

Books like Twilight are female pornography. The men in them are no more realistic than the depictions of women in hardcore porn videos are of real women. The only difference is that male pornography is considered crass by society because it's based blatantly around looks and ***** whereas female pornography is a bit more subtle. |
