The problem is, people think it is cool to get a python, or a turtle, or a gator, or whatever kind of exotic pet and don't think about the long-term commitment. When the owners finally get annoyed with them, they just let them go somewhere. It would be much better to destroy the exotic pet than release it outside of its native range.

I find this hard to believe. Maybe if you refuse to eat cheap foods. One can subsist off foods like rice and beans for EXTREMELY cheap. Not that it's the best diet in the world. But if your area is like mine just talk to some 'struggling' families. Everyone wants to eat meat and processed meals. Eating like that is expensive! Learn to live within your means people. Food is still cheap and readily available. If you think this is bad go to any country besides a westernized one.I'm sure there are some families who really are struggling to put even cheap food on the table. But I'd be willing to wager that MOST of these families are not spending their money on food that will last.

I would highly suggest a simple WYSIWYG interface. Your primary challenge in implementing a Wiki in a corporate environment is getting people to spend time updating it. Telling them they need to learn a new formatting system will ensure that no one ever takes the time to add content.
