"Let them eat cake" would have been directed at the lower classes, not the bourgeoisie.
Yeah, that's great. Massive deficit spending is seen as a partisan issue instead of plain old irresponsible money management.

“Generation 1 night vision typically runs $200-300+, and that's usually just a monocular. This toy is effectively the same thing, is far cheaper, and does exactly what I'd like it to do: let me see things in the dark.I'll go have fun with my $80 toy, and you go save up your money so you can feel superior with your "better" night vision.

Oh please, Bing has been flat around 91/2% for months. It was down in September to under 9, then back up slightly in October (probably fueled by W7). Here's my gripe, in W7 RC, I had no trouble changing the default search engine for IE8 from bing to google, but in the official release, google is nowehere to be found (especially on popular search engines). Seriously, you had to search for it by name to make it default - isn't this the same BS that got m$ in trouble last time? I say that as a novelty, the only time I used IE8 was to download the most recent Firefox, just since my stored copy hadn't been updated in a while. I expect bing to drift up as the clueless use IE8 and can't figure out how to change back to google, but honestly, most of those people (like my mom, my aunt) never use the default search on the browser, they just type google into the addressbar. Is it me or are there a hell of a lot more m$ pumpers on all forums spewing this kind of trash since W7 came out?.
But, but, but WHY?!

The comments on the site are probably the most oblivious I've ever seen. Worth reading! |

Bailing out the AIGs of the world had two general effects. One, to stop the financial house of cards from crashing the rest of the world's economy around it.Two, to keep existing world trade and construction projects that depended on borrowed money going.Oh. Thats actually two ways ot saying the same thing.Never mind.PS. It also enabled the CEOs to get bonuses for sucking in the governments of the world who did similar bailouts. So there are two effects after all!
